Paul J. Campisi Award
The Paul J. Campisi Award is awarded for academic excellence. The award was established in honor of Paul J.Campisi, who was a professor of Sociology at SIUE. It was the wish of his family at the time of his death in 1995 that this award be established to recognize an outstanding senior student with a disability.

Noble R. Thompson III Student Disabilities Award
The Noble R. Thompson III Student Disabilities Award is in memory of Noble R. Thompson III, a professor in the Geography Department at SIUE for many years who passed away in 2001. During his tenure at the university, Noble was an advocate for students with disabilities, particularly students with visual impairments. The student who receives this award must be visually impaired and have the highest grade point average of the students with a visual impairment who applied.

Robert Fleming Memorial Award
The Robert Fleming Memorial Award was esablished after the death of Robert Fleming, a former student at SIUE, and an advocate for persons with disabilities. Although the award was only presented for two yeasr, it was awarded to students who exemplififed many of the qualities that Robert Fleming hoped people would exhibit toward persons with disabilities. He would have been very proud.
