Welcome to Biological Sciences
Our Department offers a diverse program of study that allows students to prepare for numerous career opportunities in research, industry and government. Students can study various subject areas including health sciences, cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, microbiology, functional anatomy, physiology, ecology, evolutionary biology, wildlife management and conservation.
Together with the SIUE campus, we provide excellent facilities and many opportunities for innovative biological study. We have our own greenhouse and vivarium facilities for plant and animal research, and the 2,660-acre campus includes a 75-acre lake, a 35-acre botanical garden, and 380 acres of forest and restored prairie set aside as the SIUE Nature Preserve, all of which serve as an outdoor classroom and research space.
