Research Interests: Dr. Retzlaff is currently the research co-director of the St. Louis metropolitan area research collaboration (G.R.E.E.N. – Green Roof Environmental Evaluation Network) based at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). His main areas of research interest include: evaluation of green roof and green wall technologies, sustainable green infrastructure, and sustainable use of residual waste products.
Research Opportunities: Dr. Retzlaff is currently looking for student/faculty research collaborators in the following areas: integration of sustainable practices into academic curriculum, large data set statistical and/or modeling analysis, evaluation of native plant performance in green infrastructure. Potential student/faculty research collaborators will share: LARGE collaborative group (faculty/students/industry collaborators), access to MANY sustainable research sites locally, regionally, and nationally, a NEW environmental sciences research laboratory, and lab/sampling tools.
