Research Interests
Dr. Fields is a comparative philosopher who has published on South Asian thought and culture, particularly the traditions of healing. He has produced, by means of collaborations, a number of publications and recordings concerning Native American thought, culture, and history, with a focus on the Pacific Northwest. Among his current projects is the regional initiative Indigenous Knowledge and Sustainability. Fields serves on the boards of the Alliance for Native Programs and Initiatives in St. Louis and the Center for Spirituality and Sustainability at SIUE (the Buckminster Fuller Dome).
