Internship Services for Employers
The SIUE School of Business Office of Internship Services partners with our centralized Career Development Center to support employers in the recruitment and selection process for business internships. Our office can assist you from start to finish. Whether you are developing your first internship position or are a seasoned professional, our office can support your recruitment goals. Additionally, we can provide support to manage and maintain internships at your organization.
Why Hire SIUE Business Interns
For employers, internships provide an opportunity to extend the interview process and evaluate the intern’s skills, work ethic and assimilation into the culture before incurring the expense of bringing them on full time. They help employers to build relationships to maintain a pipeline of skilled talent for future recruitment. Employers also give back to the community by providing interns a chance to learn new skills and obtain real-world experience, creating a qualified pool of candidates for the region.
For students, internships provide an opportunity to see if a particular career path or field of study is right for them, hone their skills and apply their academic knowledge. Internships are a way for students to obtain valuable real-world experience, gain specific field-related exposure and make important connections for the future.
Outstanding Students
The SIUE School of Business serves approximately 1,500 students from 30 states and 16 nations.
SIUE business students have diverse experiences and backgrounds. Many students are actively involved on campus through our professional student organizations, campus leadership, athletics and other campus groups. Additionally, all SIUE Business students are required to complete two professional development courses during their program. These courses focus on professional skills such as networking, workplace communication, team building, business etiquette and more.
Our students are held to a higher standard as the SIUE School of Business is among only 5% of the estimated 16,000 business programs worldwide to be accredited by AACSB International—the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Additionally, we hold a separate AACSB accreditation for our accounting program, a distinction which can only be claimed by 25% of all AACSB accredited institutions. Please visit the AACSB website to learn more about the standards used to ensure that we continuously monitor, improve and offer a quality business education.
A business education from SIUE prepares students for success as a business or community leader. SIUE School of Business alumni are leaders in the global business world.
