Testing & Study Resources
All licensure tests are administered by the Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS). Tests are offered in various locations throughout the site on specific testing days. Students need to pre-register in advance and be aware of the policies. More information is available at the ILTS testing. As of January 2017, there is no expiration date for content tests and edTPA results. All tests are valid indefinitely.
The following tests are ALL required in order to obtain an Illinois Teaching License:
- Content Area Test (test code varies) - must be passed prior to student teaching (check with your Student Services advisor for testing deadlines and test codes). Students should take tests that correspond to their major area of study. Register for the content test.
- Students are required to complete a performance-based assessment (edTPA). Students will learn more about this requirement in their program classes.
