Declaring a Construction Major (BS) or Minor
Once a student meets the admission requirements to be admitted into the School of Engineering, the student will consult with their academic advisor and declare a major and/or minor. The Engineering Academic Advisors will work with you directly to ensure your academic success. The Construction Program currently offers an academic major, one minor, and a specialization in Surveying. Features of each are listed below. The list presents the total hours offered by the Department within the program. Your academic advisor will assist you in a development plan that meets your career expectations.

Construction Management Minor
Twenty-one credit hours are required for a minor in construction management. The courses are to be selected from the construction curriculum with approval by the chair of the department. Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average above 2.0 in all construction courses. Typical minor emphasis includes Building Processes, Simulated Construction Environment, Construction Materials, and Building Commerce. See below for a list of typical classes. Other emphasis classes can be arranged with the approval of the chair of the department. Emphasis areas are not reflected on student transcripts.
