Tim Murphy
Tim Murphy, PLS, entered the surveying profession in the late 1970’s and has completed all types of field surveys and office surveys throughout his career. Tim received his Professional Land Surveyor credential from Illinois in 1988 and added credentials from Indiana and Wisconsin in 1998. Tim’s work experience is diverse and includes the successful completion of numerous projects for various design professionals, governmental agencies, transportation departments, various municipalities and counties, utility and power corporations, private developers, attorneys, and construction companies.
Throughout Tim’s professional career, he was an active member of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association (IPLSA). In addition to being the chair of various committees, including the IPLSA Workforce Development Committee, Tim has served most all chapter officer positions and all state officer positions culminating in 2016 where he served as the IPLSA State President with a focus on the future of surveying. Tim became actively involved and engaged with the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). Tim has served as the Illinois Director for NSPS since 2017 and became the Chair of the NSPS Workforce Development Committee in 2019.
