Power Systems Research Lab
Under the guidance of Dr. Xin Wang
The Power Systems Research Lab is equipped with single and three phase transformers, harmonic analyzers, adjustable speed drive inverters, and other auxiliary devices for electrical energy conversion. Protection relays and remote operation devices are used to emulate systems for power distribution along with other typical instrumentation found at substations. All workstations are installed with PowerWorld, MATLAB/Simulink and data acquisition software.
Research and development in the Power Systems Research Lab include:
- Power Electronics and Control for Wind and PV Energy Generation and Distribution Systems
- Power System Design and Analysis
- Hybrid Vehicle Modeling, Design and Control
