The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) conducts research that focuses on fields of expertise beneficial to the industry. ECE maintains long-term partnerships with various centers in both the geographic vicinity and throughout the country. The ongoing research activity defines ECE's research capabilities, which fall into the following categories:

- Electric Vehicle Technology
- Power Systems and Remote Operation
- Camera-Based Tools for Surgery and Imaging
- Ultrasound Imaging of Heart
- Radar Data and Distributed Sensors
Inquiries regarding sponsored R&D needs can be directed to individual faculty or the chair of the department. ECE will be glad to provide help and expertise in both large or small projects.
