Jake Benne
Laboratory Training Specialist
Jake Benne joined the ERTC as the Laboratory Training Specialist in the Fall of 2025. Before his time at the ERTC, Jake spent several years in the field of water treatment. As a graduate of the ERTC program, he went on to work at Missouri American Water in the Water Quality Department for St. Louis County. He served as a Senior Water Quality and Environmental Compliance Technician alongside, and under the guidance of many experienced and field-educated team members at a surface water facility that produces an average of nearly 200MGD, all the while gaining real-world experience and intimate knowledge of laboratory processes. These are just some of the attributes Jake has brought to the ERTC. As Laboratory Training Specialist, his main responsibility is to transfer that knowledge and experience to his students and prepare them to run the analyses required to maintain both drinking water and wastewater treatment plants as well as remain in
