Hanover Research Grant Proposal Support
Funding Description
The Graduate School is piloting a partnership with Hanover Research to provide a suite of grant proposal development resources and prospecting support to SIUE faculty who are interested in pursuing external funding. These resources include grantsmanship training, identification of funding opportunities, proposal review and revision support, and more. This support is an expansion of current available resources in the Office of Research and Projects.
Purpose
Our goals in establishing this partnership with Hanover:
- Support faculty who are new to grant writing in developing high quality proposals.
- Support faculty who are experienced in grant writing in enhancing their funding success rates and expanding their funding opportunities.
- Identify new funding opportunities that meet the research interests and scholarship goals of our faculty.
- Ultimately increase the number of quality grant proposals and funding success rates at SIUE.
Eligibility
NTT and TT faculty, Post-Doctoral Fellows, and Visiting Assistant Professors are all eligible to request this support. Faculty who are preparing proposals for external federal funding are welcome and encouraged to submit requests for specialized proposal development, review, revision, and production support provided by Hanover Research.
Eligibility Checklist:
- PI is currently working with a pre-award specialist (contact Director of Grant Development, Diane Cox, at diacox@siue.edu to get started)
- Only proposals for federal funding opportunities will be considered
- Funding requests must guarantee to yield SIUE’s full, federally negotiated ICR rates.
- Funding requests are from full-time SIUE faculty members (TT, NTT, Post-Doctoral Fellow, Visiting Assistant Professors) as PI AND the majority of the proposal support will be expended within SIUE.
- PI agrees that in using Hanover Services they will provide feedback regarding their experience to the Office of Research and Projects via an exit survey.
- Only one proposal to be reviewed at a time.
- Proposal must be submitted at least 4 weeks prior to internal routing deadline.
Prioritization
Please note that there are contractual limitations to how many projects can be under review with Hanover at one time. We will do our best to ensure all eligible proposals receive the requested review from Hanover Research. In the event that there are concurrent requests and we need to determine priority; the following factors will enhance priority of a proposal:
- Proposals that are collaborative funding requests, with one or more co-PIs from SIUE in addition to the lead PI.
- Proposals that are complete drafts with all required materials.
- Proposals that are resubmissions to a program wherein a prior agency review can be made available along with proposal drafts.
- Funding requests wherein proposal reviews will be provided and available for future resubmissions if the proposal is unsuccessful.
- Funding requests greater than $150,000.
