NSF Convergence Accelerator - Regional Expansion Events

Research is often driven by a compelling societal or scientific challenge; however, it may take the researcher community years to develop a solution. To deliver tangible solutions that have a nation-wide societal impact and at a faster pace, the National Science Foundation (NSF) launched the Convergence Accelerator program, designed to leverage a convergence approach to transition basic research and discovery into practice. Using innovation processes like human-centered design, user discovery, and team science; and integration of multidisciplinary research and partnerships the Convergence Accelerator is making investments to solve high impact societal challenges through use-inspired convergence research. The NSF Convergence Accelerator is expanding to 10 regionally focused NSF Convergence Accelerators to enhance national and regional competitiveness in innovation and research. This network of regional anchors will expand the geography of innovation through the promotion of convergence research, increasing NSF’s reach to engage more researchers and scaling the delivery of use-inspired solutions to benefit the region and nation.
The NSF Convergence Accelerator Midwest Regional Expansion Events are open to interested individuals and organizations from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Register now to be part of the initial expansion events. We invite you to share this information with colleagues who may be interested, but please only register for one event to allow space for all interested individuals to attend.
