Visualizing Research Impacts Competition - Due October 1
Posted September 11, 2024
Discipline(s): All
The Visualizing Research Impacts (VRI) competition is designed to encourage SIUE scholars to communicate and distribute to the public the results and impacts of their research and creative activities.
The intention of this internal funding competition is to expand and promote faculty research and creative activities, build a bridge from current faculty research and scholarship to opportunities for external research funding, and/or expand SIUE and broader public recognition of the results and impacts of faculty scholarship, research, and creative activities.
This program is a competition rather than an opportunity to fund the creation of products. Applicants must provide a visual or audio representation that demonstrates the results and impact of their scholarship, research, and/or creative activities.
Possible productions of a visual research impact project could include an image in the form of a photo, drawing, painting, collage, or etc. Additional possible productions may include publicly engaging data visualizations, mapping diagrams, or audio/video productions or dance recordings of a research outcome.
All entries must be submitted by 4:30pm on October 1 via the Kuali Build application form.
This competition is open to tenure-track faculty, non-tenure track faculty, and any faculty engaged in work with Graduate students and are currently involved in a research project or creative activity at SIUE. All qualified entrants are encouraged to apply, including minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and protected veterans.
One ($1,500) award is expected to be made.
Any questions concerning this program may be directed to the Graduate School at siueresearch@siue.edu.
