Make a Difference
Improvements and enhancements, and maintenance of The Gardens rely on private funding. No state funds are allocated to the Gardens. In addition, the grounds are maintained by a loyal group of master gardeners and master naturalists who are volunteers working without salary. (Recently, Carol Gardner, project leader of the group, was recognized for her efforts and awarded the State Outstanding Master Gardener Award at the Master Gardener Conference in Peoria.) Private support guarantees that all 36 acres will be maintained for campus and community visitors to enjoy.
Support The Gardens at SIUE
- Gifts to the Gardens provide a vital source of funding for maintenance and enhancements. All contributions go through the SIUE Foundation, but are ultimately routed to the Gardens to finance operations.
