Involve the relevant sponsored projects office early in the process.  Their trained staff will ensure the work being done at the University meets the federal agency and University requirements.

• SIUC: The standard proposal deadlines and requirements must be followed. See https://ospa.siu.edu/apply/proposal-submission-deadlines.php.

• SIUE: See “Where to Start.” It is highly recommended that the university PI open an SBIR/STTR proposal Kuali Research a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the sponsor’s deadline.  The proposal must meet the standard proposal deadlines, including minimum requirements for the routing and internal review process to begin at least 10 business days prior to the sponsor’s deadline.

• SOM:  It is highly recommended that the university PI discuss a potential SBIR/STTR proposal with the grants office staff a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the sponsor’s deadline.  Standard proposal deadlines and requirements must be followed.  See:  https://www.siumed.edu/adr/grants/submission-policy.html
