How long will review of my human subjects research protocol take?

Review times can depend on a variety of factors. Average review times by review category are listed below.

  1. Exempt: 1-3 weeks
  2. Expedited: 3-6 weeks
  3. Full Board: 2 months or more

Please note, the IRB might need additional clarification before they are able to determine what review category your project falls under.
