Basic Telephone Service
Basic Telephone Service is included in the housing contract and requires no additional paperwork or fees.
Personal Telephone Line
The Personal Telephone Line (PTL) contract is available at the Information Technology Services Customer Support Center (CSC) in Lovejoy Library, room 0005; or from this web site as linked below. The signed contract must be presented in person . You will be asked to show your SIUE ID when applying for a PTL. The total cost of $36.00 is due at the time of the request. Requests are made and paid for per semester. After your completed PTL contract and payment have been, your PTL will be activated within five to seven working days.

Student Telephone Account Number (STAN)
Before you obtain your STAN, you must have activated your SIUENET account using the e-ID web site and know your e-ID (i.e. jdoe) and your password. To obtain your STAN, access the following web site: https://eid.siue.edu/stan. Enter your e-ID and your SIUENET password. Review your contract. Once you have chosen "Accept", at the bottom of the screen, your STAN and Subscriber ID will be provided to you.
Your STAN will be active as long as you are financially clear and a University Housing resident. If your STAN is lost or stolen, you will continue to be responsible until you report it to Information Technology Services Customer Support Center in Lovejoy Library, Room 0005, and complete a STAN cancellation form. In the case of a stolen STAN, contact the University Police at 618-650-3324 and file a report. In either case, you cannot be issued a new STAN until your balance is paid in full. Once your balance is paid in full, visit Information Technology Services Customer Support Center in Lovejoy Library, Room 0005 to be issued a new STAN.
Your total amount of monthly calls will be sent to the Office of the Bursar and be applied to your accounts receivable by the second week of every month. Payments are made at the Office of the Bursar.
