Who We Are and What We Do
The Resource Development team of IDLT is here to create instructional and informational resources for your department. With a combination of text, videos, and decision-making activities, users navigate the modules to learn software, department policies and procedures, or presentations.
Procedure
- Complete this form to request a resource development consultation.
- In the consult, be prepared to discuss
- Timeline
- Type of project
- How resource will be accessed (Blackboard, webpage, etc.)?
- Who will access the resource (students/staff/faculty/users outside SIUE)?
- Will there be accountability (need to record completion?)
- Will there be a certification of completion?
For resources containing modules with knowledge checks, the time allotment for completion can be 3-5 weeks (each week consisting of 5 working days) or more per module.
For updates to existing modules, anticipate 1-2 weeks per module. Resources such as infographics vary depending on the complexity. These estimates vary depending on the current workload.
Client’s Responsibilities
- Provide a training/resource planning document, resources, and a script. The script can be sent in chunks if multiple modules are to be developed, but the script must be finalized. Or SMEs can provide an audio recording and script.
- Make themselves available for meetings, consultations, and reviews as reasonably requested by the ID.
- Promptly review (2 weeks) and provide feedback on the course content, ensuring accuracy and relevance to the subject matter. Failure to do so will result in loss of prioritization.
IDLT’s Responsibilities
- Use the information and insights provided by the SME to develop a structured and effective course curriculum.
- Present draft materials for the SME for review and approval.
- Incorporate the SME's feedback into the course materials and make necessary revisions promptly.
- Post the training/resource to the appropriate location (Blackboard, webpage, etc.).
