Moayad "Mo" Abuzaneh, Student Trustee Vision for Student Government: My vision is to make sure students have a real voice in the decisions that affect their experience at SIUE, especially when it comes to tuition, student fees, campus resources, and university policies. During my time as Student Trustee, I have worked to bring student concerns directly to university leadership and the SIU Board of Trustees, while also keeping students informed about the decisions being made at that level. I want to continue pushing for more transparency, including clearer breakdowns of mandatory student fees and where that money is actually going. I also want to make it easier for students to make informed decisions. Beyond that, I want to continue working on issues students deal with every day, and overall campus engagement. Serving in Student Government is about being accessible, listening to students, bringing their concerns forward, and following through. My goal is to continue building a stronger connection between students and university leadership and to make sure students are represented in the decisions that shape SIUE.
Hobbies: Outside of school, I enjoy riding motorcycles, working on cars, and photography and videography. I also recently picked up horseback riding as a new hobby and have really enjoyed getting into it.
