Social media has changed the way we interact with each other. Emerging platforms continue to create opportunities and unique challenges as we work to expand the reach of the SIUE brand. Social media can be a powerful tool to share the stories of SIUE faculty, staff, students, programs and activities. University Marketing and Communications (UMC) can provide support and resources to help you integrate social tools into your communication strategy.
UMC maintains the strategic direction and development of all university-wide social accounts. UMC provides consultation services and training, offers best practices to schools/colleges/departments at SIUE, and oversees the University’s social media policy.
The UMC social media team oversees the daily content management of our central social platforms and disseminates messaging that promotes university-related initiatives. We share what is happening on campus, but more importantly, we listen and learn what is important to our students, faculty, staff, parents, fans and friends – we engage.
