Leading Scientific Organizations Value their Partnership with NCERC
NCERC is proud of the corporate partnerships that have been forged throughout our 16 years. Organizations like Siemens, Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI), the National Corn Growers Association and numerous other leading innovators have boosted NCERC’s successful rise.
Siemens SIMIT Laboratory
Siemens is a global powerhouse focusing on the areas of electrification, automation and digitalization. One of the world’s largest producers of energy-efficient, resource-saving technologies, Siemens is a leading supplier of systems for power generation and transmission as well as medical diagnosis. The company has pioneered infrastructure and industry solutions.
Students at SIUE and Lewis and Clark Community College gain experience in advanced process control through Siemens simulation (SIMIT) and live Siemens PCS 7 training, as part of the partnership between Siemens and NCERC.
NCERC’s own Pilot Plant facility features a Siemens PCS 7 v 8.2 distributed control system, including a SIM-IT digital twin for training and research simulation, which offers data to analyze processes, technology, and design.
Shimadzu (SPARQ)
Shimadzu is a global, leading manufacturer of analytical instrumentation, founded in 1875 and offering a unique program for academic institutions known as the Shimadzu Partnership for Academic Research and Quality of Life (SPARQ).
SIUE project partners, together with SSI, wish to pursue the creation of a Shimadzu Center of Excellence at SIUE (SC): a state-of-the-art analytical laboratory to showcase analytical innovation in SIUE’s University Park. SC will focus on big picture, high visibility research impacting the biofuels and biomaterials industries, with interdisciplinary themes such as food, energy and water leading to joint grant proposals, publications, research presentations and intellectual property.
The SPARQ at SIUE is available for students to gain hands-on experience with sophisticated analytical instruments, increasing their marketability to potential employers.
