New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is your opportunity to jump-start your SIUE experience! This program is designed for admitted first-year students and introduces you to the many resources available to support your success at SIUE.
While our Spring 2025 in-person orientation sessions are coming up soon, you still have plenty of time to confirm your enrollment.
Before your orientation day, please make sure to complete the following items to be fully prepared:
Step 1: Confirm Your Enrollment
Get started by confirming your enrollment via your application portal. Pay the non-refundable $190 enrollment fee to kick off your journey with us.
Step 2: Schedule Your Advising Appointment
After confirming your enrollment, reach out to the Advising Office at advising@siue.edu to schedule your advising appointment. Remember, placement tests (if needed) must be completed before your advising session. Watch for an email to your SIUE inbox if placement tests are required.
Step 3: Access the Orientation Module
After you pay the enrollment deposit, you’ll get access to the orientation module. This online module has helpful information and activities to prepare you for your first year at SIUE. You can complete these activities at your own pace and come back to them whenever you need.
Step 4: Placement Tests (if required)
Some students may need to take placement tests in subjects like math, reading, writing, chemistry, or physics. Look out for an email from SIUE Testing Services that will give you all the details.
Remember, these tests are free and should be wrapped up no later than one week before you scheduled advising appointment.
