| National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center (NCERC) |

| Environmental Resource Training Center (ERTC) |
The Environmental Resources Training Center (ERTC) at SIUE is a training venue for operations in the water and wastewater industries. The facility is equipped with a 30,000 gallon per day training scale drinking water and wastewater treatment plant that are fed with influent from the University’s wastewater treatment plant. The facility also includes two fully equipped wet chemistry laboratories dedicated to water and wastewater analysis. The facility is located at the north end of the SIUE campus at 5618 New Poag Road. | ENGTEC (ENGineering and TEChnology) | ENGineering and TECnology (ENGTEC) is a cross-disciplinary business, manufacturing and technology incubator, fabrication and proof-of-concept facility available to SIUE’s students and faculty as they collaborate with private-sector customers, strategic partners and other innovators. The Center for STEM Research, Education and Outreach is a national leader in transformative STEM education programming and community engagement. The STEM Center’s multi-disciplinary group of researchers and educators innovate ways to engage students and the public in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through externally-funded research endeavors, professional development opportunities and resource sharing for K-12 teachers, as well as campus and community outreach and education. The STEM Center is proud to partner with regional higher education organizations, local community colleges, school districts, regional offices of education, government agencies, the business sector and the community at large. | Center for Predictive Analytics (C-PAN) |
Thanks to decades of advancements in computational technology, we live in an era where it is relatively easy to collect and store data. Yet, making sense of “Big Data” is not always a simple task. The Center for Predictive Analytics uses and develops state of the art data analysis, machine learning, and data visualization techniques to mine complex data for meaningful insights and real-world applications. In addition to supporting the analytical needs of our faculty researchers and industry partners, we offer workshops and training opportunities in data analytics, machine learning, and the ethical use of these technologies. The Office of Regional Economic Analysis is housed in the Department of Economics and Finance in the School of Business. The Office provides forecasts of local economic activity and offers insights to media outlets. In addition, OREA is available for consulting services, including economic impact analysis, forecasting, and other business analyses. | GeoMARC |
GeoMARC at SIUE is a university think-tank that specializes in the use of remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies to solve spatial problems for industry and federal, state and local governmental agencies. GeoMARC’s remote sensing and image processing expertise uses satellite, aircraft and drone imagery to address issues related to land use change and agricultural productivity. GeoMARC’s GIS expertise is centered around network analysis for optimizing delivery routes and service areas, GIS database generation, GIS modeling, and basic/advanced data mapping. Located just 20 miles south of the SIUE campus, the SIUE East St. Louis Center connects the community with the research, faculty, students and credibility that a nationally recognized university brings. Supporting youth, adults and families in the Metro East community for more than 70 years, the ESLC operates programs funded through federal, state and local grants with an annual budget of more than $14 million. | Small Business Development Center (SBDC) |
The Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for the Metro East at SIUE is a service to the community supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and SIUE School of Business. SIUE operates two Small Business Development Centers and the International Trade Center. All Centers provide resources and information to Southwestern Illinois entrepreneurs, business owners, small business service providers and the University community. The SBDC provides one-stop assistance to individuals by means of advising, research and advocacy for new ventures and existing small businesses. When appropriate, the SBDC strives to affiliate its ties to the Southwestern Illinois Region to support the goals and objectives of both the SIUE School of Business and the University at large.
