Professional Student Organizations
Student Representative Council (SRC)
The SRC is the central governing body for student pharmacists at SIUE School of Pharmacy. Made up of elected student leaders from each class and organization, the SRC provides a unified voice for students on important academic, professional, and community matters. Through collaboration with faculty and administration, the SRC promotes student involvement in curriculum feedback, course evaluations, recruitment efforts, and leadership development. The council meets at least once each semester and maintains a newsletter to keep the student body informed.
American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP)
The SIUE chapter of the AAPP connects student pharmacists with the field of neuropsychiatric pharmacy through education, advocacy, and professional development. As part of a national organization with over 1,500 members, AAPP is dedicated to advancing the role of pharmacists in mental health and neurology. Students gain exposure to clinical practices in psychiatric pharmacy and build networks with professionals leading the field.
American College of Veterinary Pharmacists (ACVP)
The ACVP chapter at SIUE offers student pharmacists a chance to explore the unique and growing field of veterinary pharmacy. Members connect with peers nationwide and gain insight into animal health through networking with ACVP fellows and professionals in the field. Whether you're curious about treating pets, livestock, or exotic animals, ACVP provides a pathway into this specialized area of pharmacy practice.
American Pharmacists Association (APhA) – Academy of Student Pharmacists (ASP)
American Pharmacist Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is the largest professional organization for student pharmacists, with over 34,000 members nationwide. Our SIUE chapter helps students thrive in pharmacy school, explore diverse career paths, build professional connections, and advocate for the future of the profession. Through meaningful service, leadership opportunities, and national initiatives, APhA–ASP empowers student pharmacists to make a real impact—both locally and nationally.
American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP)
American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) prepares student pharmacists to care for aging populations through specialized knowledge in geriatrics and medication management. Members gain insight into the field of consultant pharmacy, explore unique pharmacotherapy needs of older adults, and engage in outreach, education, and professional development. Through local and national networking opportunities, ASCP connects students with experts in geriatric pharmacy and promotes healthy aging in communities.
Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI)
Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI) is a global network of student and professional pharmacists united by a shared commitment to faith and service. Rooted in the mission to serve Christ through pharmacy, CPFI empowers members to integrate spiritual and professional growth. Students build community, explore the intersection of faith and healthcare, and engage in service projects that support both local and global needs.
Industry Pharmacists Organization (IPhO)
IPhO supports student pharmacists interested in careers within the pharmaceutical industry. With a focus on professional development and innovation, IPhO connects members to leaders in drug development, commercialization, and regulatory affairs. Through networking, educational events, and career resources, students gain firsthand insight into industry pathways and prepare to make meaningful contributions beyond the traditional pharmacy setting.
Lambda Kappa Sigma (LKS)
LKS is a professional pharmacy fraternity that empowers women in pharmacy through a strong foundation of leadership, service, and sisterhood. LKS provides lifelong opportunities for personal and professional growth, offering a supportive space where members uplift one another, build confidence, and form meaningful connections within the profession.
National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA)
National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) supports and advocates for the future of independent community pharmacy across the country. With a strong focus on pharmacist-led care, entrepreneurship, and public health, NCPA empowers students to explore careers in independent pharmacy while learning about legislative advocacy, patient-centered services, and sustainable business practices. Members connect with a nationwide network of professionals dedicated to innovation, ethical leadership, and serving local communities.
Pediatric Pharmacy Association (PPA)
PPA is the leading organization focused on advancing safe and effective medication use in children. Through education, advocacy, and research, PPA empowers student pharmacists to deepen their knowledge of pediatric pharmacotherapy while building networks with professionals dedicated to improving child health. Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA)
Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) is a service-based organization dedicated to addressing health, education, and social disparities affecting underserved and minoritized communities. Through outreach, advocacy, and leadership development, SNPhA empowers student pharmacists to make a lasting impact in both the profession and the populations they serve. Members engage in meaningful projects, foster cultural awareness, and champion representation in healthcare.
Student Society for Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP)
Student Society for Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP) at SIUE is a dynamic student chapter affiliated with the ASHP and the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists (ICHP). The organization is dedicated to advancing pharmacy practice and optimizing patient care through clinical excellence. SSHP introduces students to career opportunities in health-system pharmacy, fosters professional development, and connects members with mentors and resources at both the state and national levels. Rho Chi Society
Rho Chi Society is the academic honor society for pharmacy, recognizing students who exemplify scholarly excellence, integrity, and leadership. The Beta Delta chapter at SIUE-SOP promotes intellectual growth, ethical conduct, and critical inquiry within the pharmacy profession. Members are united by a shared commitment to advancing knowledge and serving as lifelong leaders and learners. Rho Chi fosters a strong community of scholars and supports initiatives that elevate academic and professional standards in pharmacy education.
Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS)
PLS is the national pharmacy leadership society, and the Delta Eta chapter at SIUE-SOP honors students who demonstrate exceptional leadership and service. PLS promotes lifelong leadership development, recognizing those who inspire others and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of pharmacy. Through its community, PLS supports continued personal growth, encourages leadership excellence, and ensures the profession is shaped by capable, ethical, and visionary leaders.
School of Pharmacy Class Organizations (P1, P2, P3, P4)
Each pharmacy class at SIUE-SOP is represented by a student-led Class Organization that functions as the student government for its respective cohort. These organizations serve to advocate for class needs, plan events, build community, and serve as a voice between students and administration. The P1 Class Organization supports first-year pharmacy students as they transition into the program, while the P2, P3, and P4 Class Organizations continue that support throughout the second, third, and fourth years of the curriculum.

Pre-Pharmacy Association (PPA) supports students preparing for a career in pharmacy by advancing their academic and professional development. Through monthly meetings featuring guest speakers, advising sessions, and peer networking, members gain valuable insight into pharmacy school preparation and career pathways. This organization helps pre-pharmacy students build confidence, community, and clarity as they take steps toward a future in the profession.
