Madison County Transit (MCT) Services at SIUE
Fixed-Route Bus Service
- Where to board: All buses stop at the main shelter on Hairpin Drive (outside Peck Hall).
- Routes available:
- #17 Cougar Shuttle: On-campus loop from Hairpin to Cougar Village
- #22 University Shuttle: Connection to Edwardsville Station and off-campus student housing
- #4 Madison–Edwardsville: Connection to Edwardsville Station and Granite City Station
- #19 Edwardsville–Collinsville: Connection to Walmart, Collinsville Station
- #13X Highland–SIUE Express: Connection to Highland, St. Jacob, and Troy Park and Ride Lots
- Trip planning: Schedules are on Google Maps and the MCT website.
Campus Shuttle and Fare-Free Zone
- #17 Cougar Shuttle: Free, every 10 minutes, 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday in fall/spring; evening/weekend/break service also runs, but on a modified schedule.
- Fare-Free Zone: All rides that stay within campus are free.
Microtransit (On-Demand)
- MCT Micro – Edwardsville: Evening service, Monday–Saturday, 6:30-12 p.m.
- Covers Edwardsville and parts of Glen Carbon, with pickup/drop-off at Hairpin Drive and some off-campus housing.
- Book rides through the app or by phone.
Paratransit
- ACT Runabout: A curb-to-curb service for seniors (65+) and riders with disabilities.
- ADA trips available within ¾-mile of fixed routes, during the same service hours.
Bicycles, Trails, and “Bike + Bus”
- All MCT buses have bike racks.
- MCT Trails: SIUE’s Delyte W. Morris Trail on campus connects directly to the regional trail system via the MCT Yellowhammer Connector, linking to the 138+ mile MCT Trails network.
Fares and Passes (Off-Campus Trips)
- Ways to pay: Cash/tokens, monthly passes, or mobile tickets
- Local trips (within Madison County): $1.00
- Regional trips (to St. Clair County/St. Louis): $3.00
- Pass options: Local, System, Student (physical or mobile passes can be purchased). Mobile Passes are available via the Token Transit App.
- Local: Valid on all MCT routes that operate within Madison County
- Regional: Valid on all MCT routes
- Student: Valid on all MCT routes and only available for K-College/University students
