Kim Gindler
Kim began studying the violin in the SIUE Suzuki Program when she was four years old and was a member of Mr. Kendall’s first tour group to Iceland and Sweden. As a teenager, she was concertmaster of the CASA Young People’s Orchestra and the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. One of her favorite Suzuki memories was attending a camp where Dr. Suzuki lead the final concert! She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from SIUE and obtained additional certificates in Orff and Kodaly music methods. In addition to being a Suzuki teacher, Kim has taught public school orchestra, choir, and general music. Kim’s Suzuki violin and cello teachers/ trainers include John Kendall, Carol Smith, Glenda Piek, Tanya Carey, Ronda Cole, Tom Wermuth, Cathy Lee, Joseph Kaminsky, Winifred Crock, Nancy Jackson, Andrea Yun, Shu-Yi Scott, Erika Lord Castillo, and Carey Beth Hockett. Both of Kim’s children were Suzuki students and she now lives with her husband, Randy, on a small farm outside of Troy, IL.
