Alex Mosier
Alex Mosier is an artist at heart and a dedicated musician. They are from Houston, TX originally and have been playing violin since they were six years old. They attended Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston ISD, graduating with an arts certification in 2021. Currently, they are a senior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville studying violin performance under Dr. Lenora-Marya Anop and Suzuki Pedagogy with Erika Lord-Castillo. They are currently concertmaster of SIUE’s University Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Michael Mishra and have served as assistant concertmaster for two years previously. In the summer of 2023, they served as an alumni intern for American Festival for the Arts located in Houston. Outside of their studies, Alex taught a group class for 4th grade string students in Webster Groves SD during the 2023-2024 school year, and they have several private students. They also joined the Edwardsville Symphony for their 2024 season. In their free time, they enjoy roller skating, tie dyeing, cooking, and playing with their cat, Snowball.
