Welcome to University Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate is the body empowered to act as agent for the University Faculty with the delegated power to formulate policies in regard to all academic matters and other matters of faculty concern except those that are related to the Graduate School as set forth in the Bylaws and Statutes of the Board of Trustees. The Faculty Senate consists of 39 proportionally elected members and the faculty-elected members of the Graduate Council. Meetings of the Faculty Senate and Faculty Senate committees are subject to compliance with the Open Meetings Act, and they include time allotted for public comment.
The standing committees of the Faculty Senate are Curriculum Council, Faculty Development Council, Rules and Procedures Council and Welfare Council.
