Budget, Finance & Academic Operations Council
In the spirit of shared governance, the role of the Budget, Finance, & Academic Operations (BFAO) Council is to help ensure that the academic concerns of all university constituents are the central focus of SIUE as implemented in the University’s budget. The BFAO is tasked with the following activities to achieve its goals:
- The BFAO council shall advise the Faculty Senate and communicate with the administration on budgetary matters which affect the University’s academic plans and strategic plan, the financial feasibility of the University budget to achieve the goals related to the academic programs, and their effect on the operating budget, capital requirements, and the financial health of the University that affects students, faculty and staff.
- The BFAO council shall advise the faculty senate and communicate with the administration on the university’s academic operations (such as classrooms, labs, technologies used in academic units, etc.) which have an impact on students’ success and faculty performance.
- The BFAO council shall advise and provide support to the Faculty Senate representative on UPBC.
Issues and subjects covered by collective bargaining are beyond the scope of this council.
