Quality Indicators
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has been shaping a changing world since 1957, offering quality undergraduate and graduate programs forged with a solid commitment to the economic development of Southwestern Illinois and the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
The campus is situated on 2,660 acres of beautiful, forested woodland atop the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River bottom land, only 25 minutes from downtown St. Louis.
SIUE is also one of the best higher education values in the Midwest. The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, as well as more than 30 additional accrediting agencies. In-state tuition is available to undergraduate and graduate students from all 50 states. New undergraduate students receive a guaranteed tuition rate for four continuous academic years. And, our student-faculty ratio is excellent at 15 to 1.
As important as location, affordability and student-faculty ratios, we are an institution with a clear purpose and a clear mission. There is ample evidence that we have achieved excellence in undergraduate and graduate education and that we are a premier metropolitan University:
