Healthcare and Nursing Administration / Healthcare Informatics
Overview
This dual major program:
- Prepares nurses for entry into management positions in healthcare organizations
- Refines the skills of experienced nurse managers to mentor them for executive-level positions
- Fosters skill development and perspective in planning, designing, implementing and using information technologies
The program provides a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals to leverage prior education and experience to provide leadership to teams using technology to improve patient healthcare options.
Out-of-state students are strongly encouraged to discuss clinical requirements with the assistant dean of graduate programs. Clinical arrangements are not able to be made in all states. What can I do with a degree in healthcare and nursing administration/healthcare informatics?
Graduates of the healthcare and nursing administration/healthcare informatics program are well prepared to guide and lead other nurses by becoming managers, leaders and executives. Graduates will also be prepared to analyze and interpret clinical data, and work with other allied health professionals to plan, implement and optimize healthcare information systems providing training, project management and leadership within their organizations.
