Transfer Applicants
Welcome! Transfer students are a vital part of the SIUE community. SIUE will consider transfer credit from regionally accredited institutions. Details about transfer credit can be found on the transfer website.
Application Materials
- Complete online application
- Pay the $40 application fee (Please note: We cannot forward applications for review unless the application fee is paid.)
- Submit official college transcripts/records
- Applicants with fewer than 30 credit hours must also submit their high school transcript
- Meet English proficiency requirement
Once approved for admission:
- Submit financial documents
- Any additional requirements listed by the program
Transfer Credit from a U.S. Institution
An official evaluation will be completed by the Transfer Center after official transcripts are received. Processing may take several business days. Unofficial transcript evaluations are available from the SIUE Office of Graduate and International Admissions for students attending Illinois community colleges and St. Louis area community colleges.
Students with F-1 status who wish to transfer to another university or school must transfer their I-20 to the new institution.
International Transfer Credit
Previous international college coursework and transfer credit is evaluated on an individual basis to give students the best opportunity to succeed in their program of choice. To request a transfer of credit from an international college please provide your transcript and the course syllabi for the courses you wish to attempt to transfer. If syllabi are not available, course descriptions can be accepted, but please be aware the likelihood of receiving specific transfer credit is lower with only course descriptions. Official English translations must accompany all documents.

Photocopies that have been certified (stamped) by the issuing institution are acceptable. English translations must accompany all official transcripts and course descriptions. SIUE reserves the right to request a transfer evaluation from a third party, if necessary.
