Becoming a Member of the Board of Directors
If you have a sense of pride in the value of the education you received at SIUE, you are a great candidate for the Board of Directors. Serving as a member of the Board provides an opportunity to give back to SIUE alumni, students, faculty and staff in a very meaningful way.
As an active member of the Board of Directors, you would agree to:
- Define and uphold the Alumni Association’s mission
- Respect the confidentiality of information and mailing lists
- Not use the affiliation with or resources of the Alumni Association or the University to advance personal, political or profit motivated activities
- Actively serve on a minimum of one Alumni Board committee and participate actively in the functions of the committee
- Attend and actively participate in at least two regularly scheduled Board meetings
- Participate in at least two Alumni Association sponsored events
- Annually support SIUE financially (minimum of $100 to Alumni scholarships suggested)
- Assist in identifying and implementing programming that will enhance the student experience, thus helping to create more loyal alumni
- Serve as an ambassador and advocate for SIUE
- Seek out and encourage talented alumni for volunteer roles such as the Board of Directors, committee members and chapter leaders
