At ArchCity Defenders, I use my sociology every day. As director of development, I analyze social trends, forecasting what donors need for the upcoming year, balancing their needs with the needs of the organization. I also support uprisings that occur in St. Louis, creating “giving campaigns” that help our legal advocates and the organizers who bring support to the people. Lastly, as a manager I've utilized my employment relations skills to create a diverse, supportive and people-focused environment that limit worker turnover and increase morale. Without my education in sociology at SIUE, I wouldn't have the tools to do all this and more. GO COUGARS!
