Research
I am committed to working towards a world filled with loving-kindness. Implicit in this vision are communities that respect and uplift, that work to prevent and end suffering, and in which community members all have foundational opportunities to live decent, fulfilling, and impactful lives. As an applied political sociologist, much of my research focuses on how to create social change and on what changes could benefit our society and communities. I especially focus on public institutions, such as government and schools, civic society, social movements, and cultural politics. I am passionate about politics as an avenue for creating positive social change.
