The company’s products are used for promotional marketing as well as custom scratch-off cards, stickers and envelopes produced for themes such weddings, anniversaries and baby announcements.
Karen Tinsley-Sroka, My Scratch Offs’ founder and CEO, started her business in 2008 in her living room. She has seen strong growth since that time, and her work with the ITC since 2015 has only increased this growth.
Spurred on by the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, My Scratch Offs worked with the ITC and its partner network to overcome adversity by continuing to explore export markets. Between 2020 and 2022, Tinsley-Sroka participated in ITC-sponsored programs, including the Virtual Trade Roundtable Series, educational webinars, Export NOW 2021, and CARES Act-funded mentoring sessions. In addition, the ITC provided her with regular in-depth research reports covering global markets of interest.
ITC’s latest collaboration with My Scratch Offs in 2022 resulted in the successful creation of two localized websites in Spanish and French, which were much needed to jumpstart engagement and exports in their target markets: Mexico and Canada.

To establish contact and dialogue with clients and get an opportunity to see and share their needs and desires was an experience of a lifetime.”David Kniepkamp, President, Smart Controls.
- Red Bud Industries Inc., Red Bud

“Twenty-five years ago, we began exporting. But in 2020, we knew we needed to greatly expand our exports. Our partnership with the Illinois SBDC International Trade Center at SIUE has guided us through the process of obtaining ISTEP and CARES Act funding. That in turn connected us with a cadre of outstanding technical consultants, each equipped to answer our questions and point us in the right direction to forge alliances with customers and distributors worldwide. Thanks to this support, RBI is establishing footholds in Western Europe, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Thailand and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. COVID-19 put the brakes on our international business. But the State and the ITC at SIUE have guided us to a solid path forward. For any company in Southern Illinois or statewide, this is a great resource that RBI strongly recommends. You may think you’re alone in the challenges of exporting, but you’re not. The ITC stands ready to help.” Brandon Sachtleben, Contract Administrator.
