Employee of the Month
March 2026 Employee of the Month - Tatyana Smith
Tatyana Smith has been a valued member of the SIUE Campus Recreation team since March 2024, serving in Member Services with consistency, and a genuine commitment to helping patrons feel
welcome. As a pre-dentistry major planning to graduate in Spring 2028, she is steadily building the foundation for her future career, pairing her academic focus with the people-centered skills she practices every day at the desks.
In her role as Member Services attendant, she continuously takes initiative to help us keep it both cleaned and organized around the desks. She also proactively seeks tasks to contribute to the Member Services team by asking Linn and Margaret during slower shifts. Her positive energy, reliability, and kindness make her a joy to work alongside, and she consistently contributes to the welcoming environment that Campus Recreation strives to create.
Beyond her role in Member Services, Tatyana is an active member of the Social Work Club. She also loves to roller-skate and write poetry, two creative outlets that allow her to recharge outside of school and work.
One of Tatyana’s favorite parts of working for Campus Recreation is the sense of community she experiences during every shift, connecting with patrons. Her work has made a meaningful impact on the team, and her recognition as Employee of the Month reflects the enthusiasm, professionalism, and heart she brings to work each day.
