July 2025 Employee of the Month - Adam Wurth

Please help us to congratulate Adam Wurth as SIUE Campus Recreation’s July 2025 Employee of the Month! Adam has been a standout employee on the lifeguard staff since he started working with us in the fall of 2022 by always making sure patrons’ needs are met. When it comes to creating a safe and welcoming environment at the pool, Adam is a key factor to our team’s success! He also does a great job of assisting his team members in routine exercises that are presented at our lifeguard in-service meetings.
Adam is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering and is anticipated to graduate in May 2026. Mechanical engineering aligns with his passion to have a greater understanding of the world while being able to help others. As a lifeguard, Adam has developed great organizational skills and has honed his ability as a leader by helping patrons learn how to swim.
In his free time, Adam enjoys reading a variety of books. His favorite genres are fantasy or science fiction, and he loves spending time with his two cats, writing his own stories. Adam is in a leadership role as the Aquatic Counsellor and is also a member of Sea Scouts.
When asked about what he enjoys about working at SIUE Campus Recreation, Adam said, “I enjoy aquatics generally having it as my main focus in scouting during my time. While I do enjoy lifeguarding itself, helping others get into swimming/aquatics is something I greatly enjoy.”
Campus Recreation is lucky to have such a dedicated and passionate employee as Adam!
