Railyn is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2022. She is currently enrolled in the Clinical Psychology graduate program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and anticipates graduating in 2027. Prior to joining SIUE Counseling and Health Services, Railyn worked in a community mental health residential program, where she supported individuals experiencing a variety of mental health challenges.
Railyn joined the SIUE Counseling and Health Services team in June 2026 as a student intern. She brings empathy, authenticity, and a commitment to supporting students as they navigate life’s challenges. Railyn is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and draws from Person-Centered and Humanistic approaches. She believes that counseling is most effective when individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. Railyn strives to create a supportive environment for all students where they can explore their concerns, build on their strengths, and work towards their personal goals.
Outside of work, Raiyn enjoys spending time with her mother and her three cats. She also enjoys walking on trails, playing video games, and collecting radioactive antiques.
