As a staff counselor, Adriana’s main role in the department is to provide therapy services for students on an individual basis. Additionally, she co-facilitates non-clinical groups and psychoeducational workshops. Her counseling interests include but are not limited to anxiety, stress, trauma, and addiction as a byproduct of other mental health concerns. Adriana’s therapeutic approach is eclectic, combining skills from various therapies such as Person-Centered and Cognitive (i.e CBT, ACT, DBT, CPT). She has a background in crisis intervention, supervision, clinical group counseling, individual counseling, and psychological/substance use assessment. Outside of work, Adriana enjoys reading, traveling, and the outdoors.
In my role as a staff counselor:
"I aim to create a safe space to discuss concerns freely and without judgment. I want to help students learn more about themselves to help increase personal awareness of potential challenges and collaboratively build on their current skillset in order to address concerns. My goal is that by the end of therapy students will feel confident in managing concerns on their own!”
