Lisa is a proud two-time graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2020 and her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 2022. Her dedication to serving others led her to work in community mental health following graduation, where she provided intensive case management and therapeutic support to individuals in both the community and the correctional system.
Lisa joined the SIUE Counseling and Health Services team in August 2024. As a Staff Counselor, she brings compassion, curiosity, and a strong commitment to student well-being. Lisa is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and integrates a variety of approaches in her work, including Mindfulness, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, and Humanistic therapies. She believes that counseling should be flexible and personalized—there is no "one size fits all" when it comes to mental health. Lisa strives to meet each student where they are and fosters a welcoming space where students can show up as their full selves.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and her three beloved cats. She also loves reading, attending concerts, and writing. Fun fact: Lisa is a published poet with three published pieces to her name.
