Counseling Intern
Oyindamola is a counseling intern currently pursuing her master's degree in clinical psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville(SIUE). As part of the SIUE Counseling Services team, she provides individual therapy to students going through personal and academic challenges. She brings empathy and a genuine interest in helping clients with issues like anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, and substance use problems. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-centered techniques to help clients be the best versions of themselves. Before joining SIUE Counseling Services, Oyindamola worked at GoodWorker Ministry, a rehabilitation center in Nigeria, where she provided therapy intakes and co-facilitated life skills groups for people with substance use concerns. As a counseling intern, Oyindamola is passionate about helping clients better understand their experiences, manage their emotions, and feel more confident in their ability to cope with life’s ups and downs. Her goal is for clients to leave therapy feeling supported and equipped with tools to move forward in a way that aligns with their values and goals.
