The mission of the Department of Construction is to build the future leaders of the construction/surveying and geomatics professions by providing a world-class technology and research-based education that gives students the knowledge to positively impact economic growth, environmental sustainability, and workplace diversity.
Program Objective
The objective of the Department of Construction is to provide graduates with the engineering and business knowledge and skills necessary to coordinate the multifaceted aspects of the construction/surveying and geomatics profession.
Strategic Goals
- Academic programs - Maintain high standards of academic excellence in the departmental programs that will attract well-qualified students and faculty and meet the needs of the construction/surveying and geomatics profession.
- Students - Enhance the quality of incoming students to produce graduates that are highly valued by industry, and qualified to pursue graduate study if desired.
- Faculty - Recruit and retain faculty known and respected not only for dedication to undergraduate instruction, but to the continued professional development of technical professionals in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
- Industry Outreach - Maintain effective outreach to alumni and the greater construction/surveying and geomatics professions.
