IE Department Revives Old Tradition with Fall Picnic

On September 18th, 2025, IE Students, Faculty, and Staff on campus for a fall picnic. This marked the latest tradition to be revived that was halted by the global pandemic. Attendees enjoyed a picnic dinner, social time, lawn games, and a few passed a soccer ball around as the evening wore on. Also in attendance were Dean Karacal, Associate Dean Gordon, and Dr. Celik.
A highlight of the evening was a surprise visit from IE alumni Cem Yaba. Cem graduate from IE in the 2010s and spent time working at several different companies before returning to the area to work for Dometic in Litchfield, IL. Cem shared his experience as an engineer with the students, and how his degree helped him succeed professionally. Dometic is a multinational company that designs and sells products for the mobile living lifestyle. Cem works as a product manager for the company.
