Industrial Engineering

On August 15, 2025, the College of Engineering welcomed incoming freshman on academic day. The Industrial Engineering department led their new students in some engaging activities including icebreakers, a discussion of the program, exploring student groups, and learning about the industry experience from IE alumni. The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Office of the Provost announced that Sinan Onal, PhD, a professor in the School of Engineering (SOE), and Elizabeth Cady, PharmD, in the School of Pharmacy (SOP), are the recipients of the annual Teaching Excellence Award. On April 25, 2025, Industrial Engineering seniors presented on the semester of work they did during their senior design class. The class of 2025 got real industry experience as they worked on projects for an industry partner, Gasket and Seal Fabricators, owned by Chris Peterson, located in Sauget, IL.
