2022 Outstanding IE Alumnus - Seth Voelker

Seth Voelker is the Operations Manager for Essex Industries where he oversees all operations for a $30M business with majority of the business for Blackhawk helicopters. His core belief is in the respect for and development of people and the practice of going to Gemba to find the answers.
Seth has 20 years of experience in industrial / manufacturing engineering and has worked in the automotive, retail, boating and aerospace industries. In the past 20 years Seth has setup state of the art manufacturing systems to include Assembly Lines that produced seats for the Ford Explorer and Dodge Ram Dash, both of which were ran by a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Seth has managed plant expansions and brand new manufacturing sites. He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from SIUE (Dec 2000), MBA from Webster University (May 2014) and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Besides training and mentoring the industrial engineers that have followed in footsteps at the company, he helped IE program for annual career planning session as the invited speaker and provided career placement opportunities through AME (Association for Manufacturing Excellence) to IE students.
