Three IE senior design teams advanced to 2022 SOE senior design showcase. Details about those three projects are as follows:

Team with Esma Yagmur Evlicoglu, Elif Asena Kapelman, Saadet Kilic, Sefa Kocak, Bugen Naz Kocoglu, Murat Can Kuvelet presented Standin’ Desk Riser. This is a cost-effective solution for office workers and students to raise their existing desks to a personalized standing level. The product is designed to achieve enhanced ergonomics, safety, and stability, and it supports various functions including adjustable height and width, universal application, height memory preset settings, and LED dashboard for user notification.

Team with Ruwa Abdeljawad, Ahmet Zahit Aslan, Kerem Bursalioglu, Abdulsamet Canoglu, Azad Gultekin, Mustafa Kaan Ozgobek presented Assistant Glasses, a product to help visually impaired people on wheelchairs to move around safely. It allows blind people to navigate with speed and confidence by detecting nearby obstacles using ultrasonic waves and alerting them with a buzzer sound and vibration that is incremental relative to objects’ distance.

Team with Simay Akdemir, Ceyda Irem Alici, Luis Fernando Enriquez Pizarro, Minerva Mixon, Ahmet Malik Ocal presented Snow Remover, a light and compact product to remove ice and snow on windshield in cold weather. A rotating disk for mechanical removal, heat blower for melting, and deicer liquid for chemical removal, all combined in a housing attached to an adjustable stick can provide more functional and time-saving solution to remove snow and ice quickly.
