Academic Excellence
Facilities
The School of Engineering is housed in the Engineering Building, an almost 200,000-square-foot state of the art facility. Almost an acre of glass forms the curtain walls on two sides of the west wing of the building. The building features a three-story atrium that is crossed at the second and third floor levels by walkways. Much of the structural system and the HVAC system are exposed throughout the building making it a "living laboratory" for students interested in building design and construction. A campus green roof research project is housed on one section of the Engineering Building roof.
The building houses all programs in engineering, computer science and construction management. It houses 55 engineering laboratories including:
- 14,000 square foot Student Design Center
- Transportation Simulation
- Virtual Reality
- Wind Tunnel
- Materials Testing
- Thermodynamics
- Environmental Testing
- Mechatronics
- Robotics
- Information Technology Development
- Computer Integrated Manufacturing
- Soil Mechanics
