Given the preponderance of evidence that our students’ lives will increasingly be impacted by climate change, higher education is faced with the challenge of preparing them to live well and to mitigate climate change.

This workshop will feature a discussion of service learning as a sustainable pedagogical choice that encourages hands-on problem-solving, accommodation of different learning styles, interactions with diverse community members, career preparation, and a deeper understanding of ethics.

The session will also provide opportunities for faculty to apply concepts and techniques to their own courses.
