Description:
- Join us for a semester-long book club for Beyond Bias: The PATH to End Gender Inequality at Work by Andrea S. Kramer and Alton B. Harris. The book gives clear strategies to address gender inequity in our workplace and the authors (https://andieandal.com/) will join us during the first and last sessions.
- Current DEI efforts are simply not making sufficient progress because they generally do little to address structural discrimination in the organization’s management systems and practices. Because men yield a lot of power in our institution, this book club will be a great opportunity for men to learn clear strategies to be effective allies. However, this book club is open to all genders and all faculty (tenure-track, tenured, non-tenure track).
Facilitators: SIUE Advocates Group Members, including Tom Foster (Physics), Matt Schunke (English), Jerry Weinberg (Graduate School).
